WASHINGTON (FNS) -- The textile and apparel industries and the unions that represent them are currently riding a regulatory seesaw, with a dip in one direction spelling economic hardship for the already beleaguered industries, and the opposite outcome signalling a potential cancer risk of more than a million workers.
At issue is formaldehyde, a chemical found in hundreds of goods, and which represents 8 per cent of the U.S. Gross National Product.
