SAN FRANCISCO -- "When we started, I envisioned this cute little sleepwear line that, if we worked real hard, might possibly do $1 million," remembers Laney Thornton, chief executive officer of Eileen West for Queen Anne's Lace, intimate apparel firm, based here.
"I always had the vision that it would do much more," says Eileen West, the president and designer. "I guess I have a lot more confidence in my product."
Apparently, her confidence has not been misplaced. Queen Anne's Lace, which is know for its romantic pure-cotton lingerie, had sales of $5 million last year, six years after its inception.
