IT IS HEALTHY, however painful the exercise, for pundits to examine, as the evolution of history requires, their record up against unfolding developments. I have become convinced, in the past fortnight, that the government of Argentina, during 1976 and 1977 (and perhaps for a year later), was being run by morally disgusting people. At the time this was going on, I was briefly in Buenos Aires, and--I now have reason to believe--I inclined to the wrong assumptions.
