There's no doubt about Perry Ellis' stylistic stance for spring 1986--it's clean. Ellis has taken a simple approach to sportswear by slimming down his shapes and punctuating his minimalist line with fun, novelty items. But perhaps he has oversimplified the look for men. When viewed alongside his women's wear collection at his showroom presentation on Tuesday, the men's pieces seemed to get short shrift.
