BOSTON, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Boston's Beth Israel Hospital and Brookline Hospital today announced that they have agreed to become affiliated institutions under the Beth Israel Corp.
The agreement linking Beth Israel, a 460-bed major Harvard University teaching hospital, and the nearby 109-bed Brookline Hospital follows extensive discussion among trustees, administrators, and clinical staff of the two institutions. Under its terms, Brookline Hospital will continue to operate autonomously, although the medical and administrative staffs of the two institutions will work "in close coordination" with each other.
