Michael Mooney, RIP
NOT LONG after NATIONAL REVIEW was launched, a young, blond, exuberant man entered our life and, after serving as a director of the corporation, proposed himself as Advertising Manager. This surprised us, as Mike Mooney thought himself inclined to writing, rather than to selling. But he was the original enthusiast. He had won an Olympic gold medal as a sailor, while a student at Princeton. His father had served briefly during the war as president of General Motors, and Mike said he was sure he had inherited some skills in the commercial world.
