Cutting Edges: Making Sense of the '80s
CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER is so judicious he makes George Will look like a mud wrestler. He is judiciously equidistant between Left and Right on all sorts of issues; he stands for "centrism' in politics; his tone is Solomonic. I was going to read Cutting Edges, a collection of his columns and essays, in the bathtub, but it seemed a little improper somehow.
At times Mr. Krauthammer does sound a bit passionate, even vexed, as on such disparate subjects as Saudi Arabia, Syria, Yasir Arafat, King Hussein, President Mubarak, Adolf Hitler, President Reagan's trip to Bitburg, terrorism, the Palestine Liberation Organization, ...
