"What's the matter, Jane?' Jim knew something was bothering his wife, the chemistry supervisor at Stressville General Hospital. Jane usually didn't bring lab problems home, but she couldn't hold back tonight.
"Oh, it's Steve, my boss. Sometimes I wish he didn't take those management courses so seriously. Last year he introduced his open-door policy. I admit that was pretty good. We all felt comfortable popping into his office for a chat. It really opened up communication.'
