Indeed, there are various other factors likely to help Algeria expand and become the world's biggest exporter of gas. There are also new factors favouring gas-based products for export, such as methanol, oxygenates, polymers, ethylene and high-quality middle distillates, which Sonatrach's subsidiaries are likely to launch in partnership with local upstream operators and multinationals.
