WAGNER, a Parsippany, N.J., brake fluid manufacturer, has introduced a new plastic bottle that's a dead ringer for its old metal can in size, shape, and looks -- but not without a lot of help.
The metal-to-plastics conversion hasn't been easy. For one thing, brake fluid has a nasty habit of picking up moisture, which weakens it, and special labeling problems.
This presented two major challenges: to design a pastic container which keeps moisture out and a label that looks good and holds up well. Container and label also had to meet strict Department of Transportation specifications.
