/ADVANCE/ LOS ANGELES, March 6 /PRNewswire/ -- California under the Deukmejian administration has experienced a "remarkable comeback" marked by "achievement, prosperity, leadership and opportunity," Gov. George Deukmejian told 1,600 enthusiastic supporters this evening at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.
The $1,000-per-person event raised about $1.6 million for Deukmejian's re-election campaign, according to state finance chairman Karl Samuelian. To date, more than $6.5 million has been raised by the governor as he prepares for November's general election.
