EPA to Halt Study Probing Formaldehyde Exposure Risk WASHINGTON (FNS) -- In an expected move, the Environmental Protection Agency has announced that it will not pursue its investigation of the effects of formaldehyde exposure on textile and apparel workers.

The EPA, saying it considers the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to be "the proper authority to reduce the clothing manufacture risk," last week referred the issue to OSHA, as it is allowed to do under the Toxic Substances Control Act.
