Eel fish breeding seems to be gaining popularity at the moment, indicated by the number of investment projects in this fishery sub-sector. According to the BKPM, up to the end of last September, eight investment projects in eel fish breeding with an average planned investment of over Rp 8 billion had been approved. On completion, these projects will increase the country's production by 320 tons of fresh eel fish and 1,228 tons of smoked eel fish annually.
