"Too many awards are given for films'
I enjoy acting in the theater more than in any other medium. I have nothing against film except that I'm not very keen on acting at breakfast time. Theater is an evening job. I like getting down there, making myself up, being with the same people day after day. It becomes very much of a family affair. You know people's peccadilloes. You know their marrital troubles and the pets they have that die. I love all of that. And then you go out and unwind over supper in a little bistro.
The actor is in control in the theater. If someone says, "Listen, that scene in Act 2 is so boring, and it's 3 minutes too long; ...
