BASF Brasileira SA (Brazil), the plastics manufac turer, is building an industrial waste incinerator at its site at Guaratingueta, in the Sao Paulo region of Brazil. The plant will cost about DM10 million ($5.7 million) and have a capacity of 2,400 tonnes a year, BASF told Haznews. Much of the waste to be treated will be chlorinated organics. Planning for the inciner ator has been done in close co-operation between BASF Brasileira and the Central Engineering and Environmental Protection Division at BASF's head quarters in Ludwigshafen, Germany.
