ISUZU TO BUILD TRUCKS IN U.S. IN JOINT VENTURE

LOS ANGELES, May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Isuzu Motors Ltd. has announced that it, in conjunction with Fuji Heavy Industries, will produce light pickup trucks and Trooper II sports utility vehicles at a U.S. plant to be in operation by the end of 1989.

The companies will invest about $480 million to build the production facility, which will also build Subaru four-wheel-drive sedans and station wagons.

Isuzu will own 49 percent of the venture; Fuji will hold 51 percent of the company and will nominate the chief executive officer and oversee ...
