Article: INDONESIA'S UMBRELLA EXPORTS FLUCTUATE

During the past five years, Indonesia's umbrella production grew more rapidly that its umbrella consumption. This has enlarged Indonesia's capacity to export its umbrellas. Because of this, investors seem to be increasingly interested in developing the domestic industry of umbrellas.

Indonesia's umbrella production rose at an average annual rate of 11% for the past five years, i.e. from 7,602 thousand units in 1986 to 13,383 thousand units in 1990. The highest rate of increase in Indonesia's umbrella production took place in 1988, i.e. 19%.
