In its first ever loan to the Territorial Collectivity of Mayotte, a French overseas territory among the Comoros islands in the Indian Ocean, the European Investment Bank (EIB) is advancing 1.15 million Ecus to part-finance a 330-passenger ferry boat linking the archipelagos's two main islands. The investments, with an estimated cost of 1.75 million Ecus, also comprise the development of a harbour terminal and a toll station for ferry passengers.
