DALLAS, June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Metro Airlines Inc. (OTC: MAIR) today announced that May 1986 traffic increased 35.2 percent to 23,211,659 revenue passenger miles from 17,173,575 in May 1985.

A revenue passenger mile is the equivalent of flying one paying passenger one mile.

For the month the airline had 44,318,582 available seat miles, compared to 29,231,118 in 1985, for a 51.6 percent increase. Load factor, or percentage of seats filled by passengers, decreased to 52.4 percent from the 58.8 percent in May 1985.

Metro said boardings for the month rose 37.1 percent to 130,000 from 94,800 in the 1985 month.
