LIBERTY ISLAND, N.Y., June 16 /PRNewswire/ -- A major new exhibit -- one of the most meaningful new elements of the massive restoration of the Statue of Liberty -- will open to the public upon the official reopening of the statue on July 5.
Two million or more visitors are expected to view the exhibit each year.
The new exhibit, located in the pedestal, will be the first permanent display on the history and symbolism of the Statue of Liberty. Visitors who contributed to the $265 million restoration campaign of the Statue of Liberty - Ellis Island Foundation can take special pride in the facility because their donations are making it possible.
