Premium contracts in the Middle East have "gone", i.e., awarded to those powerful combines on whom project owners could have counted to do the lobbying. Yet there are equally big projects in the gas business as well as new tenders related to main contracts awarded. The following are the projects that need pursuing:
- A $3.2 billion gas pipeline from Algeria to Spain, via Morocco, is the subject of feasibility study by Omegaz and a group of powerful EC companies. If they get the go-ahead from the powers that will help finance it the project would generate another $4 billion worth of new business in EC extensions from Spain.
