Summary:
The quantity of stratospheric aerosols has increased tenfold over previous years, in both the high and middle latitudes, according to the EASOE (European Arctic Stratosphere Ozone Experiment), a research project involving more than 250 scientists from 17 countries of the European Community and the European Free Trade Association. Scientists from the project presented their findings on April 7 in Brussels.
The purpose of EASOE, the first scientific research project of its kind to date, was to study ozone depletion in the Arctic atmosphere and to determine whether the phenomenon of ozone loss exists over the northern hemisphere as well as the southern. ...
