Nowadays, most of the domestic demand for printing ink can be met with domestic production. In 1991, Indonesia's printing ink production reached an estimated 15,199 tons, up 4.8% from 14,500 tons in the previous year. Printing ink is used by the printing industry, which produces press publications, books, brochures, posters, packagings, and others. The largest segment of the market for printing ink is made up of press publishers, which produce newspapers and magazines.
