BEING GAY and at Yale may be hard. Being conservative and at Yale is even harder. That's the moral to be discerned in Yale's most recent venture into censorship. Every year the gay community at Yale hosts GLAD week--Gay/Lesbian Awareness Days. This year, one student responded by putting up his own rather witty poster advertising BAD week--Bestial Awareness Days. Yale called that "sexual harassment" and placed the student on two-years' probation.
This isn't the first time Yale has cracked down on speech it considers objectionable. Oddly, Yale administrators don't seem to recognize that free speech is at issue. They ...
