The domestic garment industry has continued to grow rapidly with the continuing improvement in people's income and in the domestic economy. The rapid growth of this industry has caused the demand for sewing machines to increase. However, the domestic production of sewing machines has continued to decline sharply. On the contrary, Indonesia's sewing machine imports have continued to increase both in volume and in value. Most of the sewing machines which Indonesia imports are used by the garment industry.
