LONG BEACH, Calif., July 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Linea Aeropostal Venezolana (LAV) is the 31st airline worldwide to take delivery of a McDonnell Douglas MD-80 twin-jet airliner, McDonnell Douglas announced today.
Based in Caracas, Venezuela, the airline purchased the new aircraft, an MD-83 model, from GPA Group Ltd. of Shannon, Ireland.
LAV will receive a second MD-83 from McDonnell Douglas in April l987, and holds an option for a third, scheduled to join the fleet in December of next year.
The MD-80 family consists of five models, advanced derivatives of the popular McDonnell Douglas DC-9 twin-jet. LAV already operates l0 DC-9s, making its ...
