Dacron 740 Enters Du Pont Scene Today; Goal: Soft, Loose Comfort
Loose ends and open spaces are the aim of a new Dacron polyester staple fiber being introduced today by Du Pont.
New Dacron 740 is a dual denier staple fiber, featuring 1- and 2-denier filaments coiled together, with a standard 1 1/2-inch cut length. This creates more open space and loose ends in the yarn, and, ultimately, a looser fabric construction resulting in improved air-flow, softness and comfort, according to Phillip Carroll, Du Pont project manager.
