It appears that the four methanol projects will not materialize as originally scheduled as a result of the issuance of Presidential Decree No. 39/1991, which essentially controls the flow of offshore commercial loans and limits their amounts, especially loans for big projects which will be realized in cooperation with state companies or will take advantage of government facilities.
The methanol industry is an upstream petrochemical industry which takes advantage of government facilities, especially with regard to supply of raw materials. The four methanol projects have been directly affected by the presidential decree, because they will rely on supply of natural gas ...
