Article: REVOCATION OF THE BAN ON UNPROCESSED-RATTAN EXPORTS DOES NOT BOOST EXPORTS

The ban on the exports of unprocessed rattan and half-finished rattan products, which came into effect in mid-1988, will soon be lifted. However, to replace the ban, the Government will provide tariff protection by imposing high export taxes and surcharges.
