The ban on the exports of unprocessed rattan and half-finished rattan products, which came into effect in mid-1988, will soon be lifted. However, to replace the ban, the Government will provide tariff protection by imposing high export taxes and surcharges.
On 27 May 1992, the Minister of Finance issued Decree No. 534/KMK.013/1992 dated 27 May 1992 on the revocation of the ban on the exports of unprocessed rattan and half-finished rattan products and on increasing the export taxes and surcharges stipulated in Decrees of the Minister of Finance No. 1223/KMK.013/1992 and No. 545/KMK.013/1991.
