Kern River Gas Transmission Readies For Battle Over Lucrative EOR Market
There's no more "Mister Nice Guy' for the Kern River Gas Transmission Co. They've taken their shirts off, put on their boxing gloves and challenged the California Public Utility Commission and two of the state's utility companies to a fight over the lucrative EOR market in Kern County.
Three fields--Kern River, Midway Sunset and Belridge--with recoverable reserves estimated at 3.2 billion barrels currently burn part of their oil production to generate steam used in EOR steam floods.
