Article: CONDITIONS AND PROSPECTS OF INDONESIAN SHRIMP INDUSTRY: Shrimp production still dominated by shrimp catches

Indonesia's shrimp production shows a significant increase, averaging 26.4% annually, from 146,307 tons in 1986 to 267,270 tons in 1990. To date, most of the country's production still comes from shrimp catches. However, in pace with the growth of shrimp farming in the country, the contribution of shrimp catches has been declining. Of the total production of 267,270 tons in 1990, as much as 160,058 tons or 59.9% came from shrimp catches. In 1989, shrimp catches accounted for 63.5% of the country's production.
