UPPER SADDLE RIVER, N.J., July 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Western Union Corp. (NYSE: WU) reported today that its net loss for the quarter ended June 30, 1986, was $9.5 million, compared with a $9.7 million net loss recorded in the second quarter of 1985.

These results included $1.5 million and $5.2 million, respectively, of income from discontinued operations of the government systems division of the corporation's principal subsidiary, the Western Union Telegraph Co. The 1986 second-quarter results also included a gain of $6 million on disposal of the government systems division, which was sold in April.
