Article: VALUE OF ACCUMULATOR (BATTERY) EXPORTS DOUBLES

Indonesia's accumulator exports have grown quite rapidly, especially in value. This is so because Indonesian accumulator producers no longer rely exclusively on the domestic market; they are now export-oriented. One consequence to this is that Indonesia's accumulator component imports have also been increasing.

There are two types of accumulators which Indonesia exports, namely accumulators for motor vehicles (i.e. cars and motorcycles) and other accumulators. In 1991, Indonesia exported 625,578 motor-vehicle accumulators, and the figure represented 35% of Indonesia's total accumulator exports for the same year.
