British Wool Textile Exports Net Off 15% in 5 Months From 1985 LONDON (FNS) -- Export earnings of the British wool textile industry dropped 15 per cent in the first five months of 1986 compared with a year ago, to 235 million pounds ($352.5 million), with a 9.8 per cent decline in volume shipments to the U.S.

The National Wool Textile Export Corp. said the sharp decline in exports resulted from reduced shipments of combed wool and hair tops, which fell 26 per cent, and an 18 per cent decline in exports of raw wool.

"There also has been a general economic slowdown worldwide, which is affecting us," said Geoffrey Richardson, the corporation's director. ...
