Railroad Commission Republican Hopeful Has an Oil Background
HISTORICALLY, the oil industry has funded some 80 percent of the amount needed to run for the Texas Railroad Commission. This year, the race will be just a little bit different.
"Trying to raise money is a little difficult," said Republican candidate Milton E. Fox. "This is not a good year for raising money. However, I think I can run this race at a nominal cost."
An off-year spot on the state regulatory agency opened up this year when Commissioner Buddy Temple decided to step down. There were heated primaries in both parties for the seat.
