Caustic soda producers in Indonesia are, among others, PT Industri Soda Indonesia, PT Soda Sumatera, and PT Indochlor Prakarsa Industries. These three companies are categorized as supplier-producers because all of their caustic soda production is supplied to other parties. The other caustic soda producers are integrated with user-industries such as the PVC industry (in the case of PT Asahimas Subentra), the pulp and paper industry (in the case of PT Inti Indorayon Utama and PT Tjiwi Kimia), and the MSG industry (in the case of PT Miwon Indonesia). The total production capacity of the domestic caustic soda industry is currently about 500,000 tons per annum.
