China is going to build 880 km long submarine natural gas pipelines. The Nanhai-Hongkong Submarine Natural Gas Pipeline Project has been contracted by China National Metals & Minerals Import & Export Corporation. The grand signing ceremony was held recently by China, Japan and the U.S.A. in Beijing.
Experts say, the project is the second longest submarine natural gas pipeline project in the world. Starting this year, it is planned to supply gas on Jan. 1, 1996.
