Shu Uemura lays out expansion plans

The Japanese cosmetics company Shu Uemura, which opened its first U.S. shop in Century City, Calif., in June, is planning an expansion that will include the opening of more in-store counters and free-standing boutiques.

The company, which has approximately 60 boutiques internationally, will open a counter at Bloomingdale's New York flagship next Tuesday and plans a late October opening at Macy's Herald Square.
