Summary:
The European Investment Bank is lending 1 billion Austrian Schillings (72.5 million Ecus) for the construction of a 13 kilometre motorway by-pass at Klagenfurt (Carinthia) in southern Austria. The contract was signed on September 21 in Vienna by EIB President Sir Brian Unwin and managing director of Autobahnen- und Schnellstra en-Finanzierungs-Aktiengesellschaft (ASFINAG), Dr Gerhard Janschek, and member of the group's commercial council, Karl Just.
