Governor Pedro Rossello is expected to travel to Mexico in early 1994 to explore closer ties with that country. In the past, the Government of Puerto Rico has announced plans to open an office in Mexico (to promote investment, trade and tourism) but thus far nothing has been formalized. (This is another example of important matters being placed on the back burner, while the leadership remains obsessed with political status.)
