Article: NYLON TIRE CORD PRODUCTION DOWN

After reaching its peak level of 26,300 tons in 1991 and an average annual increase of 27.3% for the past five years (1987-1991), Indonesia's nylon tire cord production began to decrease in 1992, namely to 23,701 tons or by 9.9%.

Of the 23,701 tons produced in 1992, some 7,200 tons came from PT Andayani Megah, a member of Gajah Tunggal Group, and the rest from PT Branta Mulia, the largest nylon tire cord producer in the Asia-Pacific region. The domestic production of nylon tire cord has been lower than the installed capacity level of 33,000 tons per annum, of which 21,000 tons per annum belongs to PT Branta Mulia and the other 12,000 tons per annum to PT Andayani ...
