NEW YORK, Oct. 17 /PRNewswire/-- To honor the memory of 12 New York City firemen who lost their lives while battling a fire on 23rd Street and Broadway 20 years ago today, Metropolitan Life Insurance Company will black out the lights of its Tower from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m this evening.
The New York City Fire Department will also mark the anniversary by holding a memorial vigil at 7:30 p.m. in Madison Square Park, directly across from Met Life on 23rd Street and Madison Avenue.
