Columbia Gas Plan Drops Customers' Purchase Rate

Customers of Columbia Gas Transmission Corp. will pay less for natural gas but more for service under a new open access rate proposal filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

Columbia, the first major interstate pipeline granted an open access certificate under FERC's Order 436, was committed to keeping its regular rates in place for two years under the terms of settlement reached before the order came into play.
