Knoll
It looks so simple. Why didn't anyone think about showroom design in such clear terms before? The parti in Gwathmey Siegel's expanded and redesigned Merchandise Mart showroom for Knoll is one large central space, perfect for flexible display and for making that important first impression of size, edged by linear series of smaller spaces, perfect for office use, conferences and more intimate display areas. In both organization and color scheme--black, gray, white--this showroom is pared to fundamentals.
