Summary: Draft Interim Agreements for both Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic will now be put to the European Union's Council of Foreign Ministers on July 18 and 19 for rubber-stamping, having been approved by the European Commission on July 13. These draft Agreements would allow the parties to implement the trade aspects of the Partnership and Cooperation Agreements that have already been concluded, while awaiting the formal ratification of the PCAs by all concerned.
The former Soviet republics of Kazakhstan and the Kirghizia have already initialed Partnership and Cooperation Agreements with the European Union - Kazakhstan on May 20, 1994 and the newly-renamed Kyrgyz ...
