Shipping companies
A notable shipping company in terms of capacity is PT Bahtera Adhiguna, one of the three state-owned shipping companies under the Department of Communications. At present, the company has 13 vessels, with a total capacity of 186,000 DWT, including 5 chartered vessels with a total capacity of 134,000 DWT. This year, the company has added two more chartered vessels to support its operation in coal transportation to meet the increased coal transportation demand of the Suralaya Steam Power Plant in West Java and to meet the demand of the Paiton Steam Power Plant in East Java.
