Competing to become agents of foreign shipping companies
Since the issue of the Deregulation Package of November 1988, many Indonesian shipping companies have practically been operating as the agents of foreign shipping companies due to the loose requirements for setting up shipping companies as described earlier. Many domestic shipping companies have also become the agents of foreign shipping companies for Indonesia.
