LifeCell Corp., The Woodlands, TX, and Orthopedic Research Institute at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, Long Beach, CA, announced they will collaborate on conducting preclinical evaluations of orthopedic tissues processed with the company's universal tissue engineering technology.
The research will focus on testing three tissue types found in the knee: anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), articular cartilage and meniscus. The companies say their goal is to refine the technology and surgical techniques involved in tissue transplantation procedures used in orthopedic and reconstructive knee surgery.
