With its rapid middle-class population growth, Jabotabek has remained the choice area for retail business investors. The development of department stores and supermarkets remains concentrated in Jabotabek. The income per capita in Jabotabek is much higher than that in other areas. As a result, the average potential buying power of people living in Jabotabek is also higher than that in other areas. Hero Group's director Anton Lukmanto estimates the average purchasing power of Hero consumers in Jabotabek at Rp 40,000 per person per visit, as opposed to only Rp 10,000 in other areas.
