Article: SOME CERAMIC TILE PRODUCERS TO INCREASE PRODUCTION RATES

The rapid development of the property sector, especially of real estates, has led to the rapid growth in ceramic tile production over the last few years. For the past six years (1989-1994), domestic ceramic tile production rose at an average annual rate of 60.8%, namely from 15.6 million m(2) in 1989 to 136 million m(2) in 1994.

In view of the rapid growth in domestic and export demand for the future, some 30 ceramic tile producers associated under ASAKI (the Indonesian Association of Ceramic Industries) have made a plan to increase their producton capacities by 50%-80% in 1995.
